State of Michigan Equipment Technician 8-E10 (Electronics Technician) in Various, Michigan
Installs, maintains, repairs, modifies, and replaces computerized alarm systems, process control systems, associated systems and devices, and other electronic equipment in the Fish Production section. This position will primarily support systems and equipment at Marquette, Oden, and Thompson State Fish Hatcheries and will assist with electronics work at other fish production facilities and Fisheries Division units as needed.
Required Education and Experience
Possession of an associate's degree in electrical, electromechanical, electronics engineering, or electronics technology.
Experience Equipment Technician 8 No specific type or amount is required.
Equipment Technician 9 One year of experience in the installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of electrical and electronic equipment equivalent to an Equipment Technician 8.
Equipment Technician E10
Two years of experience in the installation, maintenance, troubleshooting and repair of electrical and electronic equipment equivalent to an Equipment Technician, including one year equivalent to an Equipment Technician 9.
Alternate Education and Experience
Four years of experience in the installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of electrical and electronic equipment may be substituted for the education requirement. This is in addition to the experience requirements for the specific levels.
A certificate from a two year, post-secondary, technical program in electrical, electromechanical, or electronics technology may be substituted for the education requirement.
Possession of a bachelor’s degree or higher with 16 semester (24 term) credits in job specific or related course work qualifies for the Equipment Technician 10 level.
