General Motors have needs for qualified Assembler Inspector Journeypersons. Working under minimal supervision, the Assembler Inspector Journeyperson is responsible to build properties used for test validation of the product design as well as an evaluation of the manufacturing processes.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Follow established safety procedures according to OSHA standards and company procedures

  • Assemble ground-up pre-production vehicles (from a bare Body and white)

  • Perform partial builds (bucks) for subsystem evaluation

  • Build subassemblies as required (e.g., doors, IP’s, headliners, chassis)

  • Able to document any and all issues related to developing the highest quality vehicle.

  • Identify proper fit and function of vehicle components

  • Perform module programming and electrical debugging

  • Perform wire harness construction and/or rework

  • Read blueprints and/or diagrams to ensure product specifications and tolerance levels

  • Work with Production, Engineering and peers in a team environment

Additional Job Description

Interested individuals must meet the following minimum qualifications:

  • U.S. Department of Labor Completion of Apprenticeship Certificate as an Assembler Inspector or Experimental Auto Journeyperson or six (6) years of documented experience in a related field such as Vehicle Mechanic or Vehicle Technician (notarized documentation required)

  • Must be able to satisfactorily complete the General Motors hiring process requirements which include comprehensive assessments, hair drug testing, and a background check

  • At least 18 years of age

  • Eligible to work in the United States

  • Must be willing to work flexible shift hours and day, afternoon, or night shifts as well as overtime hours daily, weekend and holidays on those shifts with little notice
