Hyperion Production Operator in West Branch, Michigan

You must be able to:middot; Participate in team initiatives to identify and resolve safety issues.middot; Participation in developing LEAN solutions throughout manufacturing.middot; Independent, safe, responsible operation of all the equipment necessary for the production of carbide components and assemblies related to the carbide industry.- Operate automated machinery, presses, lathes, mills, furnaces, and robotic equipment.- Work with carbide material which could include cobalt, or nickel and possibly handle other hazardous chemicals.- Perform hand assemblies of products using shrink fitting, brazing, or epoxy as required per individual quality plans.- Operate and interpret results from measuring tools, gauges, scales, microscopes, go/no go gauges, and visual standards.- Perform tooling changes, setup and troubleshooting on production equipment.- Basic programming of presses, lathes, mills, and grinding equipment.- Perform basic preventative maintenance tasks including lubrication, filter changes, equipment cleanliness, and other as necessary.middot; Complete ownership for housekeeping in assigned work area.middot; Perform training of others with respect to the safe and responsible operation of assigned manufacturing equipment mentioned above.middot; Adhere to documented Standard Work, Work Instructions, and applicable JSA documents.middot; Assure product and process quality measures are maintained. Communicate quality concerns to relevant technical support personnel.CANDIDATE QUALIFICATIONS:middot; High school diploma or equivalent combination of education and experiencemiddot; Good interpersonal, cooperative and team-oriented skills and behaviorsmiddot; Proven independent performer that needs minimal supervisionmiddot; Ability to use production management tools including LEAN, material management systems, and maintenance of accurate throughput and quality records.ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:middot; Manual dexterity required to accurately handle and position parts.middot; Walking and standing on the shop floor for extended periods throughout the day.middot; Ability to lift and transport tooling and materials greater than 50lbs using appropriate lifting tools and/or techniques.middot; Ability to comprehend and apply training to operate manufacturing production equipment listed above.middot; Ability to effectively balance priorities and multiple tasks to achieve overall production goals.middot; Must be available to work overtime during periods of high order volume.middot; Basic computer competency (email, data entry into Material Mgmt. Systems, log notes in MSWord, etc.)
